Three Feathers Cuvée Virginia Pinot Noir 2017
$32.00 – $336.00
Cuvée Virginia is named in honor of our Mother and Grandmother, Dorothea Virginia Roosevelt, whose generosity during her lifetime and after has made these vineyards possible.
The Cuvée is a blend of Pinot Noir grapes from our two vineyards; Torio Vineyard and Three Feathers Vineyard. The location of these vineyards in the upper elevations of Chehalem Mountain and the quality of the fine wind blown Laurelwood soil create a wine of lush complexity; ruby red and slightly sweet.

Deep ruby red with cherry, honey and bramble flavors, floral aromas and a seamless smooth flavor on the palate.
This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir clones from our two vineyards on Chehalem Mountain only a mile apart, but 400 feet difference in elevation. Torio Vineyard, planted starting in 2011, is at 1,150 feet; the predominant grape is Pommard but there is also 667, 115, 777 and 828. Three Feathers, planted in 2014, is at 800 feet; the predominant grapes are 667 and 115.
The remarkable feature of the 2017 season was that both vineyards achieved ripeness simultaneously and we were able to pick both in two days, on October 3rd and 4th. This is noteworthy, as there is a 400 ft difference in elevation; a testimony to the warm summer temperatures that benefited even the highest grapes. As a consequence, we were able to blend grapes from both vineyards right out of the fields.
The grapes were hand-harvested, sorted and pressed. The wine was kept in the vat for 21 days then barreled in neutral French oak to age for 10 months and bottled in late summer.
